Congratulations to Emma Wolfe who was nominated and successfully auditioned for the Honors Performance Series Women's High School Choir. This worldwide program had 12,000 nominations internationally with 700 selected. Emma was chosen and will be performing February 2019 at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Orchestra Winter Concert: Come enjoy the Westfield Orchestra Winter Concert on Thursday, Dec 20th at 7PM.

Report Card ‘A’ Day Thanks: Thanks to Marcia Pokrant, Mary Rubens, Lisa Hart, Debra Blakeney, Kris Staton, Jennifer "JJ" Conner, Susan Dickinson, Pam & Tim Scott, Christina Black, Jennie Ryman, and Andrea Jacobs who volunteered to assist with Report Card ‘A’ Day! The PTSA gave gift cards and coupons to 86 raffle winners from Starbucks, Shell, GameStop, Chick-fil-A, Tropical Smoothie, Chipotle, Gusto, and Dr. Copeland will provide a student’s 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th period class with a pizza. EXTRA thanks to Andrea Jacobs for coordinating this special recognition!

Dance Team Fundraiser: The Westfield High School Varsity Dance Team is doing kids birthday parties and Brownie dancer badge workshops to fund raise for Nationals. If you know of any families with young children who may be interested, please spread the word. See attached flyers for details or contact Coach Jessica Davis at westfieldhsdanceteam@gmail.com.

New Tutoring Program – Bulldog Blitz!: This year, we replaced BITS with Bulldog Blitz. Bulldog Blitz is a FREE tutoring program for students currently enrolled at Westfield HS. Students seeking assistance with homework or other assignments work with Westfield HS student volunteers who previously mastered the content. The sessions will be held in the library from 10: 00 am to 11:00 am on the following dates: January 12, 19 March 23, 30 May 11, 18 To register for Bulldog Blitz you can bring your Emergency Care Card to the session, or email your Emergency Care Card to jpsimmons@fcps.edu, or give your Emergency Care Card to your counselor. For more information about Bulldog Blitz, contact your counselor or Mr. Simmons, Assistant Principal at 703-488-6341.

All Night Grad Party: Volunteers needed to begin the ANGP preparations. ALL grade level parents are encouraged to participate. Please contact Jennie Ryman to help out! jennierymanptsa@gmail.com

Art Department Sip n Paint: The Art Department is offering their second Sip n Paint Event! Join us Thursday, December 20th from 3:30pm to 5:30pm to create a winter themed painting based on Claude Monet’s Magpie. Hot Cocoa, snacks, and prizes will be provided. The cost is $25 per painter. If you register and pay by Monday December 10th, the cost is only $20 per painter. Send a check or cash for each person you would like to register to Ms. Florimonte in A210.
