Here are several updates we know about from around the school:

1. Please join the 2018-2019 WHS PTSA!  Your membership is vital to the success of the PTSA! Please help support the students, teachers, and Westfield community by joining the PTSA this year.  2. All Night Grad Party: Volunteers needed to begin the ANGP preparations. ALL grade level parents are encouraged to participate. Please contact Jennie Ryman to help out! jennierymanptsa@gmail.com

 4. Thank you-Volunteers for BTSN and Bulldog Cafe:  A huge thank you to Karen Lowe for organizing the fantastic Bulldog Café for faculty, staff, and parents. Thank you to those helping her: PJ Pisone, Tricia Monroe, and Cathy Pisarcik. Thank you to our amazing student volunteers who helped at the PTSA table during BTSN: Daryl Freeburn, Brennan Dolan, Brayden Hagemeier, and Kevin Ryman. Thank you to the Virginia Run Riptide swim team for loaning us their coolers for the Café.

 5. Westfield Crew Interest Meeting: Parents and students are invited to attend this informational meeting to learn what it means to PULL TOGETHER as a member of the Westfield Crew Team! Please join us on Thursday, 9/20 from 7-8pm in the Lecture Hall.

 6. Westfield Football Fundraiser, Westfield Cross Country Fundraiser: Calling all burrito lovers.. foil your dinner plans and stop by the Chipotle at 5049 Westfield Blvd in Centreville. Mention the fundraiser and they will donate 33% of the proceeds to support the WHS Football and Cross Country Programs. Sept 24, 5-9pm (Football) Oct 1, 4-8pm (Cross Country)

 7. Westfield / Centreville Financial Aid Night: Featuring Lisa Branson, Financial Aid Expert. Learn about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and receive other important financial aid information at this informative and timely presentation. Wednesday, October 3 at 7pm @ Centreville High School in the auditorium. Please contact Laura Cudahy, LQCudahy@fcps.edu or Kara Stamper, KAStamper@fcps.edu with questions.  8. Halloween Carnival and Haunted House: Fun and games for all ages! October 5-6 from 6-9pm each night. Enter through Door 13. www.westfieldtheatre.com

 9. Westfield Homecoming Parade & Dance: Volunteers are needed for ticket sales during the week, providing or driving convertibles and trucks for the parade, and assistance on the night of the dance. Please sign up here https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0f49a8aa29a75-parent.

 13. News You Choose: Be sure to opt-in to the PTSA’s News You Choose emails so you can be informed about PTSA events.  14. Yearbooks: Order yearbooks before October 13 and pay only $60. Click here to order online. Our school code is 5577.  Attached is an order form if you prefer to order that way.

 15. Senior Ads for the Yearbook:  Attached is information about ordering a senior ad for the yearbook!  There are online directions and a paper order form – you may use either!

 16. Westfield Speech and Debate Club: Adult volunteers needed as judges on selected Saturdays during the school year. The ideal judge participated in speech or debate in HS or college, but training is available for any parents that have a desire to participate. Contact Mark Deaton at mdeaton@fcps.edu.

 18. Easy ways to Support Westfield – Please note that Giant and Harris Teeter require yearly registration!

• Harris Teeter: Register your VIC card at this link   Our school code is 8134. You must reregister each year. 
• Giant: Program restarts September 7th. The program requires yearly registration. Please update your card (and encourage your friends and families to also) and select Westfield as your school of choice. Westfield’s code is 03798.  Simply log in at the Giant website, then “manage my account” and register Westfield. You may register up to two schools. Thank you!
• Office Depot:  When checking out at the register, please ask them to credit Westfield HS. The code is 70115228. They’ll give 5% back to the school!
