Now – Online Silent Auction

8/21 – Bulldog BBQ, 5-7:30 pm

8/24 – Freshman and New Student Orientation, 8 am

 8/28 – First day of school

Here are several updates we know about from around the school:

1. Silent Auction is LIVE online now! Click here to check out the fantastic items up for bid in the 2018 silent auction! Online bidding will close at noon on Tuesday, 8/21, as we prepare for the in-person bidding during the Bulldog BBQ.  Bidding will be open from 5-7 pm and winning bidders may pick up their items at 7:15 pm.  Cash, checks, and credit cards (sale price plus 4% transaction fee for credit cards) accepted.  New this year: Bidding for some items is online only and will stay open until the item is sold via Buy It Now or at 8 pm on August 27^th!  Several of the items have already been bought via the Buy It Now option!  Don’t miss out! Additional information is available at the silent auction site.
2. Bulldog BBQ Silent Auction: Volunteers Still Needed for the Annual Bulldog BBQ: Adult and student (great for volunteer hours) volunteers are needed to help with various activities at the Bulldog BBQ. Areas of need include helping families join the PTSA, registering seniors for the All Night Grad party, selling raffle tickets for an upgraded student parking pass, helping at class tables, and more! 3. Over 55 items up for bid at the Silent Auction, including donations from:

2. Upgraded Parking Pass Raffle:   Students have an opportunity to purchase a raffle ticket to win one of the two upgraded parking spots! Tickets will be sold at the Bulldog BBQ at the PTSA table! (Students still purchase a pass through the school. This raffle is for two of the front row student parking spaces. The winning students trade their parking pass for the close spot.)
3. Westfield Reads – required book for all students: Hidden by Helen Frost is the summer 2018 Westfield Reads book selection.  A summary: “When Wren Abbott and Darra Monson are eight years old, Darra’s father steals a minivan. He doesn’t know that Wren is hiding in the back. The hours and days that follow change the lives of both girls. Six years later, in a chance encounter at camp, the girls face each other for the first time. They can finally learn the truth―that is, if they're willing to reveal to each other the stories that they've hidden for so long.”
4. Dance Team Car Wash:  On Saturday, August 25^th from 10 am to 3 pm, the Varsity Dance Team will be holding a car wash at the Exxon in the Sully Station shopping center.
5. News You Choose: Be sure to opt-in to the PTSA’s News You Choose emails so you can be informed about PTSA events. To opt-in, follow the directions via this link.  Please help spread the word to our rising Freshman Parents! Please encourage them to sign up for News You Choose, e-blasts, and the PTSA's Facebook page! 
6. Turbo-Tutoring Schedule 2018-2019: Planning ahead for the next SAT and ACT season? Check out Turbo-Tutoring. The next session is Thursday, August 23rd from 6:30 pm - 9:15 pm at Stone Bridge HS and will be a SAT prep class. 
7. Easy ways to Support Westfield:

• Harris Teeter: Register your VIC card at this link   Our school code is 8134. You must reregister each year. 
• Giant: Program restarts in the fall. Watch for information.  You must reregister each year.
• Office Depot:  When checking out at the register, please ask them to credit Westfield HS. The code is 70115228. They’ll give 5% back to the school!
