- Congratulations to Mrs. Grinups! Mrs. Grinups won a Healthy Kids Grant for the Girls’ Only Fitness Classes at Westfield! The grant was awarded by the Community Foundation of Northern Virginia and funds were used to purchase quality sneakers for the students, many of whom are not able to purchase their own! The class was formed several years ago and its popularity continues! It educates female WHS students who are non-athletes and not enrolled in a PE class. The class includes information on healthy diets and activities the students can do to get in 60 minutes of activity every day to help them stay healthy and fit. It is designed to help change the way girls think, feel, and view themselves. This is a very popular class that fills up and has a wait list every year. Wouldn’t it be great if there were enough spots for every girl who wanted to take this inspiring class? Congratulations and Thank you Mrs. Grinups for all you do to inspire our students!
